Tahiti Mana at Heiva Tu'aro 2015

For the first time in the history of the Heiva i Tahiti, outsiders were invited to participate in the island country's Traditional Sports Competition (Heiva Tu'aro Ma'ohi). The Heiva i Tahiti is famous for it's stunning dance presentations, but the Heiva Tu'aro is a also a big part of the month long cultural celebration.

Tahiti invited athletes to represent Hawaii, New Zealand, Rapa Nui, and Rarotonga. 5 Tane from Tahiti Mana represented Hawaii and trained under Rimatara sport champion, Tetaria. It was a great honor and culturally rich experience to be a part of this historic event. More photos from this exciting event can be found on our Facebook Page.Mauruuru Tahiti!
